Prime Minister Azarov said the government plans to provide 500 million UAH in direct support to producers raising milk cattle and hogs. The new subsidy calculated on the basis of delivered product would go to producers VAT tax accounts based on their sales. The calculation system resembles the one used in 2010, when support was based on quantity of sold milk and accumulated on processor VAT accounts. In turn the processors passed on the subsidy through prices paid for delivered product. According to the Ministry of Agriculture the subsidy will be earmarked for purchase of genetics, and capital investment into barns, milking equipment and feeding equipment.
