USDA lowers grain harvest forecast for Ukraine to 44.6mn tonnes in 2012

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has cut the grain harvest forecast for Ukraine by mere 0.04% to 44.56mn tonnes (compared with forecast made in September). In particular, the wheat harvest forecast remained at 15.5mn tonnes, and the forecast of the feed grain harvest was cut by 0.07% to 29.06mn tonnes. Moreover, USAD has retained its forecast for Ukraine's exports of grain crops in the 2012/13 marketing year (July 2012-June 2013) at 19.01mn tonnes. The expected volume of wheat exports remained at the level of 4mn tonnes, of feed grain - at 15.01mn tonnes. The forecast of domestic consumption in October remained at 12.3mn tonnes.
