The government of the Bosnian Federation said it decided to borrow 10 million euro ($12.9 million) from foreign commercial banks for the import of 30,000 tonnes of wheat.
The move is aimed to bridge the time gap until the national wheat reserves reach optimal amount of some 50,000 tonnes from own production, the Federation government said on Tuesday.
The Federation plans to take a three-year loan with a grace period of two years and favourable interest rate, it said without elaborating. The decision should be approved by the Federation’ Parliament.
