Ukraine will limit bread wheat exports only if its stocks are limited to the food security level. According to the updated forecast of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, the export potential of Ukrainian wheat this season was increased from 4 to 5 million tons, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysiazhniuk said during his visit to the capital's Zhytniy market on Thursday.
"If we see that the balance of food grains is sufficient for providing food security of the country, of course, we'll stop the export of wheat," Prysiazhniuk said.
He reminded that it is envisaged in a memorandum with grain traders.
The minister also said that, at the beginning of November, a conciliation meeting on wheat exports will be held. Winter wheat sowing should be completed by that time, he said.
