Latvia's Inflation Rises In September

Latvia's consumer price inflation quickened modestly in September after holding steady in the previous month, data released by Statistics Latvia showed Monday.
Annual inflation increased to 1.8 percent in September from 1.7 percent in August, which was unchanged from July.
Food prices advanced 1.6 percent annually, while clothing and footwear prices decreased 4 percent. Housing costs and utility prices were higher by 5.3 percent compared to last year, and transportation costs by 4.4 percent.
On a monthly basis, the consumer price index edged up 0.5 percent in September, reversing the previous month's 0.3 percent decrease, data showed.
