The Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry intends to discuss volumes of further export volumes of Ukrainian wheat with grain traders October 15.
Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk told a briefing at the Cabinet on Wednesday, the UKRINFORM correspondent reports.
"We are planning to hold a teleconference October 15, and to listen to scientists, producers and we will take a decision," the official has said.
According to him, 5.5 million tons of grain was shipped to foreign markets since the beginning of 2012/2013 marketing year (July 2012 - June 2013). Now, according to the signed memorandum, it is time to discuss the volumes of next supplies. In the minister's opinion, discussions around milling wheat export will calm down.
To remind, at the end of September, the branch ministry estimated grain export at 5.2 million tons since the beginning of 2012/2013 marketing year, out of these, 2.4 million tons - wheat, 1.2 million tons - barley, 1.4 million tons - corn. The Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry confirms grain export forecast at 20-21 million tons in 2012/2013 marketing year.
