At the annual Inter Agro national trade fair, most attendees and speakers at the numerous round tables and seminars had a positive outlook on the future of agriculture in the country.  UAIndex director, Bohdan Chomiak, spoke at two round tables, as did the President of Ukragroconsult, Sergey Feofilov.  Additionally speakers from other private sector companies and even a few Ukrainian government representatives, as well as numerous farmers all repeated similar themes and had common conclusions.  The most common themes were when will the moratorium on land sales be lifted, when will export quotas end, and what should be the strategy for the coming year.  Almost all the speakers and attendees were buoyed by the fact that the global market for Ukrainian agricultural exports was positive.  Less positive was the discussion about access to credit in the coming year.  However, in many cases, input suppliers ranging from farm machinery and silos, to seeds and ag chemicals, had developed new supplier credit programs in conjunction with commercial banks.  Attendance likely exceeded 10,000 visitors per day, but we will have better attendance results once the organizers post the final figures.
