All loss-making enterprises should be privatized - Poroshenko

It is not correct to spend taxpayers' funds to cover losses of state enterprises.
Economic Development and Trade Minister Petro Poroshenko has stressed on air of the Freedom of Speech program on the ICTV channel, the UKRINFORM correspondent reports.
"We cut the number of enterprises, banned for privatization. Out of 1,492 enterprises, over half are loss-making, and a part of them stopped their existence. They have obsolete equipment and technologies. It is not worth spending taxpayers' funds for those enterprises. Enterprises, which ensure state security (relevant criteria should be developed) should remain in state possession, in particular, atomic energy, railways, etc., the rest should be privatized," Poroshenko said.
"According to him, the state has not invested anything in those enterprises over 20 years, therefore, it is not an effective owner.
The Minister stressed that there will not be mass privatization. It is necessary to privatize, when there are favorable conditions for this, when there is a serious investor, who will invest the funds and, as a result, the enterprise will pay taxes.
