Ukraine reserves right for revision of WTO import duties - Poroshenko

Ukraine reserved a right (filed an application) for revision of customs rates for a number of commodities in compliance with the World Trade Organization (WTO) rules.
This was stressed by Economic Development and Trade Minister Petro Poroshenko while he answered journalists' questions, following a meeting with heads of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank on Monday.
"Proposals came from branch associations about improvement of customs rules in importing a number of commodities to Ukraine. The ministry has summed up them and sent them for opening consultations (within the term determined by the WTO - there is a right for revision since January 1, 2012 and until December 31, 2014)," Poroshenko has said.
According to him, in the process of consultations, the interested parties will be determined and their relation to Ukrainian proposals.
According to him, in the WTO accession, a number of agreements were not properly concluded and so it is necessary to correct them.
