In the 2012/2013 marketing year, Ukraine has no need to introduce restrictions on the export of wheat.

This was emphasized by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Mykola Prysiazhniuk, in an interview with the international news agency Bloomberg during his visit to the U.S., the press service of Ministry of Agrarian Policy reported.

"About 1.2 million tons of wheat has been exported. The sales of wheat to the world market will slow down in November, with the start of supplies of the newly harvested corn, the export of which is expected to reach more than 12 million tons," the minister predicted.

He stressed that Ukraine will remain a stable partner in the grain market.

Prysiazhniuk informed that this year, about 15.5 million tons of wheat has been harvested, and its predicted exports would not be more than 5 million tons. Thus Ukraine will be able to ensure its own food security.

He reminded that, in general, in the current marketing year Ukraine plans to export about 22 million tons of grain.

During his trip to the U.S., Mykola Prysiazhniuk also plans to meet with representatives of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

On July 6 this year, a futures contract on the Black Sea wheat with FOB delivery basis in the Black Sea ports of Ukraine, Russia and Romania was put into circulation at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange in the CME Globex system.

Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Prysiazhniuk is in the U.S. among the Ukrainian delegation headed by Chairman of the National Bank Serhiy Arbuzov.
