President of Tajikistan signs new Tax Code

President on Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon signed a new Tax Code, reported Presidential press office.
“The new tax code was developed with international experts and specialists, representatives of the ministries and agencies, entrepreneurs and international monetary institutions,” reported the press office.
On September 5, the code was approved by the lower chamber of the parliament, and on September 14 by the upper chamber of the parliament.
The new tax code reduces number of taxes from 21 to 10, and to 9 since January 1, 2017.
The new code shall come into force since January 1, 2013 and will be published in official media.
According to the Ministry of Finance, due to reduction of the number and volume of taxes, revenues of the national budget in 2013 will lose $178.5 million.
