Over 27.5 million tons of grain thrashed, 1.48 million ha sown with winter crops in Ukraine - Agriculture Ministry

As of September 14 this year, grain crops and leguminous cultures were gathered on 10.57 million ha of acreage, which is 70% of the forecast. 27.63 million tons of grain was thrashed with crop capacity of 26.1 centners/ha.
UKRINFORM reports about this, citing the Agriculture Ministry data.
"In particular, buckwheat was thrashed on 164,500 ha (58%). 162,500 tons were gathered with crop capacity of 9.9 centners/ha.
Corn was harvested on 562,600 ha (12%). The yield makes up 1.81 million tons, crop capacity - 34.5 centners/ha.
136,500 tons of millet was harvested on the area of 118,200 ha (70%). Crop capacity is 11.5 centners/ha.
Sunflower seeds were gathered on the area of 1.84 million ha (20%). The yield is 2.65 million tons, crop capacity - 14.4 centners/ha," the agency informs.
Until the designated date, 875,700 tons of sugar beet was harvested on 25,100 ha with average crop capacity reaching 342 centners/ha. 690,300 tons of sugar beet was shipped for processing.
Agricultural workers also thrashed 513,200 tons of soya on the acreage of 343,900 ha (23%) with crop capacity of 14.9 centners/ha.
In addition, works are carried out on preparation of soil for sowing of winter cultures. As of the reporting date, 8.72 million ha was cultivated (96% of planned lands).
Agricultural workers sowed 881,700 ha (94% of the plan) with winter rape under the yield of 2013, other winter cultures make up - 1.48 million ha (18%). Including, winter wheat was sown on 1.37 million ha (21%), winter barley- on 23,100 ha (2%), winter rye - on 94,600 ha (30%).
To remind, as of the same date of 2011, 35.84 million tons of grain was harvested on 11.71 million ha with crop capacity of 30.6 centners/ha.
