2012-09-13 16:04:53

Romania is one of the major destinations for the Chinese investors in Central and Eastern Europe, as the Chinese companies want to enter the Romanian market, invest and perform economic activities in the country, in the traditional industries and fields such as winemaking, bee-keeping, metallurgy, chemistry, solar and wind energy, wood processing and software industry, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Romania Huo Yuzhen said in an interview for Agerpres.

Maintaining and developing a healthy, stable long-term relation between China and Europe is an essential policy of the Chinese diplomacy, and this thing is not going to change, added Ms Huo Yuzhen.

'Since I was appointed as Ambassador to Romania nine months ago, I have come to know a lot of people, I have tied beautiful friendships and I have visited a lot of places; all these have made me live intensely the deep honest feeling of the traditional friendship between our countries and people. For the 63 years since we established diplomatic relations, the bilateral relations between China and Romania have witnessed a stable evolution through the joint effort of our governments and people. Besides, the mutual political trust is at a high standard, and the cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, culture, science and education have continuously expanded. The Chinese investments in Romania have reached 400 million dollars. Last year, the total trade exchange between Romania and China amounted to 4.4 billion dollars, with a 17 percent increase on a year-on-year basis,' said the Chinese Ambassador.
