Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to reach $2 billion – Nazarbaev

The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan should reached $2 million by 2012, said president of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev at the press conference after the meeting with Uzbekistan President.
“I am happy to note that our steady growth of trade and economic cooperation continues. Our turnover increased by almost 40%. During the first half of the year we see a great growth. It reached almost a billion dollars. We aim to increase it to$2 billion by 2015-2016, " said Nazarbaev.
In turn, President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov agreed with Nazarbaev and said that eh turnover shall increase twice.
Bilateral trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan increased by 17.9% to $1 406 billion in the first half of 2012. Uzbekistan export to Kazakhstan increased from $643.4 million to $794.2 million, and import from $548.6 million to $611.7 million.
Kazakhstan is the third partner in foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan.
