Ukraine in the 2011/2012 marketing year (MY, September 2011-August 2012) exported 257,500 tonnes of sunflower seeds, which is 38.9% down on the previous MY.

According to the Agicultural Policy and Food Ministry, in particular, in August exports of sunflower seeds were 1,700 tonnes, and those in July 25,200 tonnes.

According to the ministry, Ukraine in the 2010/2011 MY exported 421,200 tonnes of sunflower seeds.

The sunflower crop in 2011 in Ukraine grew by 28% compared to 2010 and amounted to 8.7 million tonnes.
