The Union of farmers of Kazakhstan forecasts harvest lower than expected by the Ministry of Agriculture, reported the Union.
The Ministry forecasted 13 million tons of grain. According to the Union, the volume of expected harvest should be decreased by 2 million tons.
“The Ministry gave its assessment two weeks ago considering producers' estimates. However, those who were planning to produce 5 centners per hectare, now collect only 3. In addition, the grain is of poor quality, and we have to decrease our expectations,” says representatives of the Union.
In addition, experts stress that regions have problems with harvest due to heavy rains.
