Within the frames of the free trade area with participating countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, clear mechanisms are envisaged for protection of Ukrainian producers in access to the markets of those countries.

Economic Development and Trade Minister Petro Poroshenko has said about this at a briefing on Wednesday, commenting on the free trade area with the CIS countries, the press service of the Economic Development and Trade Ministry reports.

Poroshenko reminded that a visit of Trade Minister of the Eurasian Economic Commission Andrey Slepnev was over on Tuesday, during which the draft memorandum was initialed on the coordination group of a trade dialogue between Ukraine and the Eurasian Economic Commission of the Customs Union.

“We clearly envisaged mechanisms for protection of Ukrainian producers, in particular, in the access to the markets of the CIS countries, including possibilities for consideration of the issues by a relevant arbitration court,” Poroshenko noted. He stressed that the action plan also envisages considerable liberalization of trade restrictions in the access of Ukrainian products to CIS markets.

According to him, the Economic Development and Trade Market adjusted with the Foreign Ministry a joint order, which provides for practical and concrete assistance to Ukrainian enterprises on foreign markets.

“In the future, we will continue using these and other measures promoting a rise of export effectiveness and protection of the Ukrainian producer abroad,” the Minister assured.
