EBRD plans to continue supporting ukrainian agriculture

Serhi Maslichenko, EBRD business development manager, says the bank intends to keep working with Ukraaine’s agriculture sector. Over the last year he said that the bulk of its investments went into support of agriculture and energy efficiency. He singled out Astarta which used the EBRD loan to lower energy consumption by 30 to 40 percent at its sugar refineries. He also mentioned MHP which used its credit to develop a bio gas unit at one poultry farm and sunflower seed husk combustion system at its oil crushing refinery. These kinds of projects will be at the center of EBRD activity.
