Balance of payments surplus exceeds $5 billion in 2010

Ukraine's balance of payments surplus in 2010 totaled $5.096 billion, compared with a deficit of $13.726 billion a year earlier. This was reported on the website of the National Bank of Ukraine.
According to the report, in 2010, the current account deficit increased by 47% to $2.558 billion, which, according to the NBU, is 1.9% of GDP (in 2009 - 1.5% of GDP).
Exports of goods in 2010 grew by 29% compared with the previous year and amounted to $52.1 billion, imports by 35.4% to $60.5 billion.
