“Kyrgyz commodities turnover fell after Customs Union (CU) establishment,” said president of Markets Retailers and Services Association Sergei Ponomarev during his meeting with Prime Minister Omurbek Babanov.

According him, entrepreneurs’ control procedure mean going through several procedures but somebody don’t do it. “Entrepreneurs weren’t asked when reforms in the country have started. Today, we don’t know how to react on Customs Union activity. Therefore the turnover has fallen. It is necessary to develop program which let Kyrgyzstan to become CU member without problems. Currently, we are reconstructing markets by ourselves and we ask Government to assist us,” explained Sergei Ponomarev.

He noted, unsatisfied work of local governments. “Looks like our officials are living in other dimension. Regulations don’t work in reality. They can’t demand something because they have other vision with other problems. Authorities could revise credit policy as loans remain expensive with short return term. Business development requires accessible loans,” said Sergei Ponomarev.
