Poltava Sugar Union announces operating results

Poltava Sugar Union, owned 29% by Astarta and 31% by Ancor Investments announced its operating results for the 2010/2011 marketing year. The Union operates 4 sugar refineries in Poltava Oblast and said that income this year fell by 64% to 119 million UAH as a result of lack of beets and low sugar content in beets that were processed. Profit fell from 26,9 million Hryvnia to 729 thousand. The company markets its output to confectioners.
