Belarus pays Russia $2.2bn in export duties on oil products in H1

In January-June 2012 Belarus transferred to the Russian budget $ 2,218.7 million in export duties on oil products manufactured from Russian oil, BelTA learnt from the National Bank of Belarus.
In June this year Belarus transferred $377.25 million in export duties on oil products.
In May this figure stood at $368.9 million, in April $363.7 million, in March $448.2 million, in February $324.1 million, in January $336.6 million. In January-May of 2012 Belarus transferred $1,841.5 million to the Russian budget. Over this time, Belarus exported a total of 8.156 million tonnes of oil products, up by 40.6% over the same period last year. The average price for Belarusian oil products made up $868 per tonne, up by 8.3% compared with January-May 2011.
In 2011 Russia received $3.07 billion in Belarus’ export duties on oil products shipped to third countries.
Since 2011, Belarus has been importing Russian oil duty-free. However, export duties on oil products made from this crude and sold to third countries are transferred to Russia’s budget. Export duties on oil produced domestically (1.7 million tonnes per year) are transferred to Belarus’ budget.
