Serbia’s overall foreign trade up by 19.3%

The Serbian Statistical Office stated yesterday that Serbia’s overall foreign trade in the period January–December 2011 totalled $31,641.4 million, up 19.3% compared to the same period in 2010. Expressed in Euros, foreign trade reached €22,691.4 million, which is an increase of 13.4%.
Exports stood at $11,779.5 million, up 20.3% compared to the same period last year, while imports totalled $19,861.9 million, an 18.7% increase in relation to the same period in 2010.
Expressed in Euros, exports jumped 14.2% to €8,441.4 million, while imports went up 12.9% to €14,250 million in relation to the same period the year before.
The trade deficit for the period January–December 2011 stood at $8,082.4 million, up by 16.5% against the same period in 2010. Expressed in Euros, the deficit stood at €5,808.6 million, up by 11.1%.
The exports-to-imports ratio was 59.3%, showing a growth against the same period in 2010, when it stood at 58.5%. Source: Serbian Government
