Vladimir Goshin, the Minister for Customs Cooperation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, reported that the new Customs Code would be developed in the Customs Union before 2015.

A new Customs Code will be developed in the Customs Union by 2015, CA-NEWS reported citing the Minister for Customs Cooperation of the Eurasian Economic Commission. The new code will include norms of all intergovernmental agreements regulating the relations of countries and economic entities in the customs area. Apart from that, the document will stipulate entirely new approaches, including the declarative principle of customs clearance and electronic declaration of goods. Draft amendments to the Customs Code have already been devised. There are around 370 amendments; however, most of them are not crucial. Draft amendments and addenda have been submitted to the governments of Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus for review and approval.
