GDP grows by 5.6% in first half of 2012 - Ministry of Economic Development of Kazakhstan

According to preliminary estimates of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade Ministry, GDP grew by 5.6% in the first half of 2012.

The country has increased its national budget revenues and real incomes.

Industrial growth was 101.9%, manufacturing industry had increase of 105.7%. In turn, investment in fixed assets since the beginning of the year increased by 5.9%.

The positive impact on economic growth made an increase in consumer demand, as evidenced by the growth of wholesale and retail trade - 14.3%, transport services - 7.2%, communication services - 13.3%.

In the I half of 2012, the financial market of Kazakhstan had an increase in deposits of 14.8%, loans - by 17.4%. International reserves of the country, taking into account the National Fund, increased by 12.9 billion U.S. dollars, and amounted to 85.9 billion U.S. dollars.

According to MEDT, state budget revenues amounted to 2.7 trillion tenge, which is an increase of 25.5%. The country has maintained macroeconomic stability.

Inflation in January-June was 2.7% versus 5.1% last year.

Foreign trade turnover in January-April increased by 21.6%. Thus, exports of goods increased by 18.4%, imports - by 30%.

The growth of housing construction was 20.8%. Investments in construction accounted for 134 billion tenge, commissioning 2.4 million square meters of housing.
