2012-07-11 17:33:32

Ukraine's economy has demonstrated a tendency towards stable growth the third consecutive year, President Viktor Yanukovych said Wednesday at an informal meeting with representatives of the Club of Chief Editors of CIS countries, Baltic states and Georgia at the Yusupov Palace in Koreiz, Crimea.

According to the President, in 2010 the economic growth was 4.2%, in 2011 - 5.3%. "This year so far we have a growth of a little more than 2%, but the pace of growth is kept and it has a stable nature," Yanukovych emphasized.

He also noted that despite the difficult economic situation in the world, "we are able to maintain economic stability".

The Club of Chief Editors of CIS countries, Baltic states and Georgia was founded in 2011 in Astana (Kazakhstan) at the Forum of European and Asian Media, which was attended by over 250 chiefs of the leading media of the CIS countries, Baltic states and Georgia. The main objective of the Club is to hold meetings with the leadership of the CIS countries, Baltic states and Georgia for a deeper understanding by the journalists of political, economic and social processes in the region and their unbiased coverage in the media.
