GDP of Kazakhstan grows by 5.6% in first half of 2012

According to preliminary estimates, GDP of Kazakhstan rose by 5.6% in the first half of 2012, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Bakytzhan Sagintaev said during an industrial forum on the State program of forced industrial-innovative development for 2010-2014.
Foreign trade turnover in January-April increased by 21.6%, mainly due to imports. Exports of goods increased by 18.4%, imports - by 30%.
The growth of housing construction was 20.8%, indicating that its revival. Investments in construction accounted for 134 billion tenge, 2.4 million square meters of housing were commissioned into use.
