Grain exports from Ukraine may approximate 26 MMT in MY 2012/13 - Ag Ministry

Grain exports from Ukraine may total about 26 MMT in the marketing year 2012/13 (July 2012 to June 2013) against 23 MMT expected in the currently ending season. This information is contained in a grain supply - demand balance designed by the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry for the new marketing year.
The Ministry points out that, despite a predicted fall in grain production to 47.2 MMT in 2012 from 56.7 MMT in 2011, grain exports will expand in the new marketing year owing to increased carryovers, which are expected at 12 MMT against 6 MMT in 2011. According to the Ag Ministry’s calculations, 2012/13 wheat exports will total 8.3 MMT, including 6.54 MMT of milling wheat, 1.7 MMT of barley and 15 MMT of corn.
