Ukraine and Belarus must cooperate in the exchange of goods and foodstuffs. This was emphasized by Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysiazhniuk during a meeting in Kyiv with his Belarusian counterpart Mikhail Rusy.

"We will certainly take steps to balance the needs of both our and Belarusian consumers," the head of the Ukrainian agrarian ministry said.

Belarusian Minister of Agriculture and Food Rusy, in turn, announced the intention of Belarus to create with Ukraine joint ventures that will specialize in growing corn, alfalfa, etc. According to him, it is appropriate "to make a balance, to distribute it reasonably and make money at ourselves."

As UKRINFORM learned from the press service of the agriculture ministry, the parties agreed to develop a joint mechanism with respect to the balance of scarce food items, discussed the structuring of future joint seed farms, and also agreed to continue organizing the Ukrainian-Belarusian trade fairs of agricultural products in major cities in both countries.
