Dutch economy expands in Q1

The Dutch economy expanded in the first quarter, marking a recovery from recession, final data from Statistics Netherlands revealed Tuesday.
The economy grew 0.3 percent sequentially in the first quarter compared to the prior estimate of 0.2 percent contraction. The growth follows 0.6 percent fall in the fourth quarter of 2011 and 0.4 percent decline in the third quarter.
Annually, gross domestic product contracted 0.8 percent in the first quarter, better than the 1.1 percent decline estimated on May 15.
