Alpha Bank denies asset acquisition report

Alpha Bank, Greece’s second largest lender, on Wednesday denied a report it was in negotiations to buy assets from another bank.
“Regarding an electronic media report, the bank states it is not in negotiations for the acquisition of a portfolio or commercial activity branches of another credit institution,” it said in a statement to the Athens bourse.
