Ukraine: Astarta to invest $35 Ml in the construction of an elevator and a soybean crushing mill

Astarta Company is initiating a soybean processing project that envisages the construction of a mill in Poltava region with a capacity of 700 MT of soybeans a day (some 220 KMT a year), according to the company’s press service.
It says the mill will annually produce up to 160 KMT of high-protein soymeal, about 40 KMT of soy oil, and 9 KMT of granulated soybran. Own soybeans grown by the agro holding will cover over 60% of the mill’s needs. Apart from the crushing facilities, the project envisages the construction of a 42 KMT elevator and finished product warehouses.
Total investment in the project will be roughly USD 35 Ml. Long-term financing of the project will be ensured by an authoritative international financial organization. It is planned that the mill will start operation in 2013.
