Export potential of Kazakh companies may increase by 20-30% by 2013 - USAID

A regional economic integration project is being implemented in Kazakhstan. Its main goal is to improve the quality and increase the amount of domestic products supplied to foreign markets. The project cost is 2 million US dollars. The project implementation is expected to result in increased export opportunities of companies by 20-30%, Caspionet.kz said.

The export potential of Kazakh companies may increase by 20-30% before 2013, according to some international experts who are implementing a special program in Kazakhstan, the purpose of which is to promote economic diversification through supporting exporters supplying finished products to foreign markets. Also experts conduct classes for Kazakh entrepreneurs on comprehensive market promotion of finished products - from market research, product certification and searching for the best marketing methods.

"What tools do we offer? One of them is support for environmentally friendly farming in the area of agriculture. The demand for so-called organic food is very high in western countries. And we know that environmentally friendly products are more expensive in the West. Our natural growing conditions of these products enable us to sell them at a high price," Viktor Prodedovich, the USAID PROJECT MANAGER said.

Another direction of the project lies in the introduction of modern standards in logistics. According to experts, the process of moving away from classical services, limited only by transportation and storage of goods can already be noticed in Kazakhstan. Along with the European countries, Kazakhstan is ready to introduce more complex products. These include a single package of information support for trade participants, the creation of information databases for clients, as well as rapid response systems.

According to expert estimates, about 10 Kazakh companies will introduce ready methods of transport and logistics support before the end of the year.
