Belarus, Turkey aim for $1bn trade turnover

Belarus and Turkey are eager to raise the bilateral trade turnover up to $1 billion. The mutual interest was confirmed by participants of Belarusian-Turkish ministerial consultations in Ankara on 29 May, the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry told BelTA.
The Belarusian delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Yelena Kupchina.
Participants of the consultations discussed cooperation in politics, trade and economy, investment and other areas as well as cooperation within the framework of international organizations. They spoke in favor of expanding cooperation in cultural sphere, transportation, healthcare, and interregional contacts.
The sides expressed the intention to promote cooperation in nuclear security and radiation protection.
After the consultations the sides signed an action plan to promote Belarus-Turkey cooperation in H2 2012 – H1 2013.
