Goods turnover volume between Ukraine and China grew by 20% only during four months of 2012 against the same period of 2011 and reached almost USD 3 billion.

Chairman of the State Customs Service of Ukraine Ihor Kaletnik has said about this during a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Ukraine H.E. Mr. Zhang Xiyun.

"China is one of strategic economic partners of Ukraine. Currently, China ranks the second among 200 trade partner countries of Ukraine," Kaletnik noted.

According to Chairman of the State Customs Service, just due to that effective cooperation of customs officers of the two countries should become a pledge of protection of economic interests of Ukraine and China. Since both parties will have information, for instance, about a real price of goods in the counteragent country or about authenticity of this or other contract.

"This will promote both simplification and speeding up of customs procedures and effective revealing of attempts to minimize customs payments," the Customs Service Chairman said.

Zhang Xiyun, in turn, said that Chinese customs officers say about readiness to realize the agreement on exchange of information between the two agencies and thanked the Chairman of the State Customs Service of Ukraine for effective cooperation and support for development of Chinese business in Ukraine.

"Chinese business highly appreciates professionalism of Ukrainian customs officers," the Ambassador noted.
