Continental Farmers Group will acquire Ukraine Farming Group BV

As of May 18, 2011 Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine agreed on acquisition of 50% of stock of Ukraine Farming Group BV by Continental Farmers Group. ED&F Man Holdings, one of the largest global sugar producers, operating in more than 40 countries worldwide, hold another 50% of UFG. According to the official information new joint company will grow sugar beets to provide raw materials for sugar plants of ED&F Man Holdings, located in Ukraine.
AgroInvest comment: Late spring until late summer is considered to be one of the most active seasons for M&A market and we expect several companies undergoing such procedures either with the purpose of vertical integration of activities or for the plain increase of the company’s land bank.
