The initial public offering of the online version of People's Daily, the official newspaper of the Chinese Communist Party, is slated to debut Friday on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, according to reports Thursday. People.cn Co. raised 1.4 billion yuan ($222.2 million) in the IPO, in what represents a 25% stake in the company. The IPO includes 69.1 million shares that were priced at 20 yuan a piece, raising about triple the amount of funds that were mentioned in an initial listing plan, reports said. The stock is slated to trade under the code 603000.
