Belarus government to cut down on regulating prices as from 2013

Starting 1 January 2013 the Belarusian government plans to reduce the list of regulated prices, Vice Premier of Belarus Sergei Rumas told media on 21 April.
Asked about measures the government intends to take to further stabilize the economy, the Vice Premier said taming the inflation was the primary goal. Moreover, it is important to reduce it below the threshold specified by program documents.
“At present the situation is in line with the matrix specified by the government. I think in H2 2012 the government will make the decision to reduce the list of regulated prices and this decision will come into force as from 1 January 2013 most likely,” said Sergei Rumas.
