Ukrlandfarming will receive USD 4 bn from China’s Sinomach

Owner of Ukrlandfarming and major stakeholder of Avangard signed an agreement with Chinese company CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd. to receive the total of USD 4 bn for implementation of agrarian projects. The agreement includes projects for construction of elevators, modernization of sugar plants, creation of pork and poultry production facilities as well as manufacturing of agricultural machinery for further sale on Ukrainian market. Bahmatyuk also conducted a meeting with China Exim Bank, which supported cooperation of the Ukrainian and Chinese companies and may become a partner in the future.
AgroInvest comment: interest towards Asian region has begun with MHP reporting 80% of company’s export sales originating from that region. Interest of Chinese investors in Ukrainian market is the matter of time and kudos to Mr. Bahmatyuk for taking initial steps in that direction thus gaining a significant competitive advantage for his company. Hungry for investments Ukrainian agro holdongs, which have a potential and desire to grow, will no doubt follow shortly.
