Russian exports to Argentina grew 3.8 times to reach 806 million dollars last year, according to the Head of the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance, Sergei Dankvert.
But the official pointed out that it is hard to be specific about imports from Argentina, despite the growing trade turnover between the two countries, and the fact that last year’s imports from Argentina grew by 16%.
To illustrate his point, he said that last year Russia was able to import only 14,000 tons of meat from Argentina, although in previous years meat imports made up as many as 190,000 tons.
But Dankvert said nonetheless that the general trend in the development of bilateral economic relations was positive.
