US confirms economy grew 3.0% in Q4

The US economy grew at an annual rate of 3.0 percent in the fourth quarter of 2011, the Commerce Department said in its final estimate Thursday.
The department's third estimate for gross domestic product growth in the period was unchanged from its prior estimate. The expansion accelerated from a 1.8 percent rise in GDP in the third quarter.
