Azarov proposes agrarian producers to unite

The government will stimulate creation of agroindustrial cooperatives.
Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said about this during at the government meeting Wednesday.
"We have to stimulate creation of cooperatives - production, processing, servicing and consuming. The cooperation is able to solve tasks, which are sometimes beyond one's power: to purchase genetically qualitative livestock population, to purchase fodder at lower prices and to pay less for its delivery, to make hay, to purchase equipment for small farms, to supply water, to arrange cooperative centers for the purchase of milk and cooperative dairy processing productions," Azarov has said.
He underscored that cooperation will enable to harmonize both large cattle-breeding farms and cattle breeding at small private farms.
At the same time, the Premier noted that existing mechanisms of subsidies does not work for development of production.
"The fact is that the subsidies mechanism did not work for development of production. Last year, we have constructed more against the previous years: 26 commercial dairy farms. But this was an increase of the livestock population by only 20,000 heads. This year, it is planned to construct twofold more - another 40 farms. And we have to provide 10 fold up: by 200,000 - 300,000 heads. At the same time, calving in agricultural economies brings up to two million heads, and almost all are slaughtered, since without support, without a stimulus farmers will not breed cattle," the Head of government noted.
In this relation, he instructed the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry jointly with branch associations and the public to calculate worthy mounts of stimulating payments, which will interest farmers in growing cattle to market standards.
