Turkey is going to invest in Kazakh economy

2012-03-26 15:45:01

Today, the companies of this country are in the field of construction materials and the construction market. They are planning to expand their presence in the agricultural industry, light industry, food and other manufacturing sectors in Kazakhstan.

The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Turkey is increasing and currently exceeds 3 billion US dollars. Both states intend to increase this figure to 10 billion US dollar. Experts claim that the current pace of development of bilateral economic relations allows such forecasts to be made.

Zeki Pilge, President, TURKUAZ Group of Companies:

-Turkish investors have channeled 3 billion US dollars into Kazakhstan and we wish that this figure would increase further still. We believe that there are possibilities for cooperation in various sectors and look forward to developing our relations.

According to experts, it is quite possible to reach the 10 billion US dollars turnover within 10 years. First of all, the 6% annual economic growth influences this situation. Then Turkish companies are increasingly interested in individual sectors of the economy of Kazakhstan.

Zeki Pilge, President, TURKUAZ Group of Companies:

-According to official figures, Turkey is in seventh place on the export of agricultural products. We believe that there are opportunities for cooperation with Kazakhstan in the agricultural sector. In addition, Turkey has extensive experience in the manufacturing of food products and construction materials. We hope that the investment and cooperation will be fruitful for both countries.

Turkish businesses have deep historical roots in the economy of Kazakhstan, in particular in the construction sector of residential and commercial real estate. And with the creation of a customs union and the common economic space that expands markets, entrepreneurs are hoping to increase Turkey’s share of production.
