«AgroInvest» — News — Sunflower, maize and soy will prevail this spring

Sunflower, maize and soy will prevail this spring

2012-03-20 16:29:39

According to various opinions the most popular cultures to plant will include sunflower, maize and soy. Unfavorable winter conditions led to losses of
winter crops and current evaluation suggests that 40% of the crops are to be re-sown, which is a disturbing data. Losses for farmers are estimated
at UAH 1206.3 (USD 150.79) for wheat crop. Weather conditions in spring lean towards later cultures, such as maize, soy and sunflower as those
suggest higher return levels. Wheat and rapeseed are not seen as a major options due to the fact that those require higher costs per hectare
compared to winter crops.

AgroInvest comment: we comply with the opinions of the majority yet make a correction. Wheat will remain one of the major sown cultures yet the
growth of sowing areas will prevail for sunflower, maize and soy.
