The trade turnover between Ukraine and the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan surged 1.5-fold year-on-year totaling over $60bn, Igor Kaletnik, chairman of Ukraine's State Customs Service, said at a meeting with his counterparts from Russia and Belarus.
"The members of the Customs Union are key trading partners for Ukraine. In 2011, our trade turnover with Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan amounted to 40% of Ukraine's total trade operations," Kaletnik pointed out.
He went on to call on the Customs Union to improve the business environment and streamline customs clearance.
