WSE to launch natural gas trading in H2 of 2012

The Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) expects to launch the platform of natural gas trading in early H2 of 2012, according to WSE's president Ludwik Sobolewski. He added that large volumes are expected to be traded on this market.
Also, electrical power derivatives are to be introduced on WSE this year, as part of the regulated market, Sobolewski said.
In late February, WSE completed the purchase of 80.33% in the Polish Power Exchange (TGE). WSE has also announced its 2011 financial results. Its net profit rose by 41.5% to PLN 134.14mn (EUR 32.56mn), while revenue increased by 19.1% to PLN 268.80mn (EUR 65.25mn).
