Ukraine not to set grain export quotas in 2012 - premier

The Ukrainian government said it would not set grain export quotas in 2012.
"There will be no quotas this year," Prime Minister Nikolai Azarov told heads of offices of foreign companies operating in Ukraine. "Ukraine has formed sufficient wheat reserves. We exported 13.5 million tonnes of grain last year, including 1.5 million tonnes of wheat. We still have reserves to last until 2013."
"Ukraine expects an average grain harvest this year despite weather problems. Even if we harvest nothing this year, we can make it until 2013," the premier said.
The grain quotas announced in 2010 were a forced measure deriving from the grain shortage in the country, he noted.
