Russian consumer price inflation in December 2010 totalled 1.1%, with overall inflation for the year 2010 hitting 8.8%, the same as in the preceding year, the Federal State Statistics Service said on Tuesday.
"The consumer price index in December reached 101.1% and 108.8% from the start of the year," the service said.
The government had expected inflation to reach 8.5% in 2010. It hiked its inflation forecast several times, primarily because of the abnormal heat and drought last summer, which boosted food prices.
