India's GDP growth slows more than expected

India's economic growth eased more than expected during three months ended December, data from the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation showed Wednesday.
Gross domestic product advanced 6.1 percent from a year ago, slower than the September quarter's 6.9 percent expansion and the expected growth of 6.3 percent.
Farm output logged an annual growth of 2.7 percent, down from 11 percent increase showed during the same period of last year. The manufacturing sector registered only 0.4 percent growth, while mining output dropped 3.1 percent.
Construction output advanced 7.2 percent in the December quarter compared to 8.7 percent rise last year.
