Ukraine-China goods turnover exceeds USD 10bn

Trade turnover between Ukraine and China in 2011 reached USD 10.4 billion, up 34.7% than in 2010. For the first time in the history of relations between the countries this figure has exceeded a 10 billion record, the Customs General Administration of China said in a statement, the Beijing-based UKRINFORM correspondent reported.
In particular, imports totaled USD 7.147 billion, an increase of 28.5% against the previous year, exports reached USD 3.264 billion - an increase of 50.9%. Thus, the balance in the interests of China is USD 3.144 billion.
The main goods that Ukraine exported to China were mineral products, chemical products, base metals and articles thereof, vehicles, equipment and machinery. From China Ukraine imported mechanical equipment, vehicles, equipment and machinery; textiles and textile products, basic metals and articles thereof, polymers, plastics and rubber, footwear, headgear and the like.
